Villa "Burov"

The building was built for Atanas Burov in 1911 by arch. D. Dabkov (arch. Dabko Petrov Dabkov, 1875-1945). The building is located in a courtyard and is freely built in relation to the neighboring buildings. The main approach is from the yard. It consists of a high plinth, two floors and a ceiling. The building is of massive construction. The floors and roof are of wooden construction. On the ground floor there is a living room with three rooms. Upstairs there are four bedrooms, a servant's room and a bathroom.

The facade on the sea side is composed of three differently treated volumes. In the left one there is a semi-circular risalite on one floor with five narrow, tall windows. On the second floor, the risalite becomes a terrace with an openwork metal railing. The roof of the building is three-pitched, with a small horizontal part and wooden brackets. The second volume is the porch, which is on two levels with wooden rocker arches and round columns with decorative friezes. The right-hand volume is a trapezoidal tower with three windows, which is raised above the other volumes and has a beautiful two-tiered dome with a spire.

The entire building has been renovated and the facade is in excellent condition. The building looks like the original drawings of arch. Dabkov.

Due to the competent complete restoration (including the interior) and the presence of the original project, the building is an important testimony in scientific, typological and historical terms for the history and way of organizing the life of one of the most significant families to this day, not only for Varna , but also on a national scale - the family of the banker Atanas Burov.

In terms of style, the building was designed and executed in the not very common trend of the Secession - national romanticism. In terms of urban planning, the building, together with the adjacent landscaped yard, is a beautiful example of a non-urban villa.
