Кратка информация
The date of construction of the fountain is not known. It is located in the "Gündyuza" area near the road. In the western direction begins the so-called Sara Bair (Yellow Bair). There are traces of at least three fountains in the area, which have been destroyed to varying degrees. The name "Gündüz çeshme" means Spring of the Day. The entire surrounding area "Gündyuza" is named after the fountain. In 1970 the locality was renamed "Borovets", but residents of Varna still call it by the old name. From about 1975 the water to the fountain has been shut off and is currently not working. The fountain is built of bricks and plastered on the outside. It looks like a model of a revival house. The body is three-part, with a vaulted niche in the middle along the entire height. The trough is located in front of the central niche and occupies one third of the total width. On either side of this niche are two small niches with dovetailed finials. The composition ends with an imitation of a gable roof, covered with a masterfully crafted stone coating. A spout is located near the trough in the central niche.
Historically, the site is valuable as it represents an example of the improvement of the city. The fountains were an essential part of the urban culture of Varna in the 18th and 19th centuries, both in social and urban planning terms.
The site and the entire surrounding area have a high civic popularity among the residents of the "Borovets" area.
