Година на построяване
1961
Кратка информация
The construction of the "House of Transport Workers" building began on 04/18/1957 and ended on 08/05/1961. The designers were arch. Panayot Minkov (Arch. Eng. Panayot Stefanov Minkov, 1918-1967) and Arch. Borislav Todorov (arch. Borislav Ivanov Todorov, 1920-1977). The builder is "Transstroy - Varna" AD. The building is set back 10 m from the street regulation and is freely built in relation to the neighboring properties. The main approach is from "Primorski" Boulevard. From "Graf Ignatiev" Street there is a secondary approach for powering The main body has four floors. The building has a massive reinforced concrete skeleton and before the 2004 reconstruction, there were rehearsal rooms and a storage room 300 000 archival editions on the top floor. In the perpendicular body to the north, there is a large hall with 350 seats, with dressing rooms and rehearsal rooms.
In 2004 according to the project of arch. Mariana Kostova, the building was renovated and the front part was rebuilt for the needs of the Maritime Administration. The renovation mainly covers the southern part of the building, with minor changes to the facade. Internal changes are very serious. The lobby is partitioned off for offices and access to the hall, which is in a deplorable state, is blocked. The basement is also unusable.
In terms of typology, the building represents, in function and structure, a typical theater building, the only one built during this period in the city.
The main facade, facing Primorski Blvd., has all the characteristics of a solemn reception area, with its symmetry and carefully carried out proportions from the general volume to detail. The reconstruction of 2004 has not hindered the overall original impact.
The building is architecturally significant, as an excellent example of a contemporary, modern treatment of a classical archetype. In urban planning terms, it plays an important role in the skyline of Primorski Blvd.
