"Vladislav Varnenchik" Monument Park

The battle site and the gravesite of King Vladislav III Jagello at the battle of 10.11.1444. Now functions as the Vladislav Varnenchik Park Museum - a branch of the National Museum of Military History - Sofia. The exposition shows the most important moments of preparation, the battle path of the coalition troops, the development of the battle in 1444. The solitary knightly armor of the era is unique in the country. There are two Thracian mounds in the park. In one of them is a Thracian tomb from the 4th century - the 3rd century BC.In 1935, a symbolic mausoleum of the 20-year-old King Vladislav, post mortem named Varnenchik, was built over the tomb.
