* There is unconfirmed evidence that the building was designed for a residential building of the Greek family Rode. In 1851 the building was rebuilt as the Belgian Consulate. * It has been functioning as a hotel for some time, and since the end of the 19th century until 1929 was used for prison.In 1969 the building acquires contemporary function "Museum of New History of Varna". The exposition is spread over three floors with a total area of 600 sq.m. and presented the development of Varna from 1878 to 1939.
