Museum of medicine history "Paraskeva Nikolau"

The building was built at the end of the 19th century with the donations of Varna merchant Paraskeva Nicolaou. He emigrated to Odessa, but bequeathed 126,900 silver rubles for construction, staff salaries, and sustenance of the patients. The hospital became operate on November 8, 1869. Over the years, it served as a cholera isolator, military infirmary, infectious hospital, maternity hospital, anti-rabies station, bacteriological station, sanitary station, hygiene and epidemiology institute.
