The Catholic Church "Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin" was built in the period 1883-1885. The author of the project is the Italian architect Valentino Dell Antonio from Modena, who also designed the Catholic Church in Ruse. Funds for construction come from state treasures and donations. One of the most generous donors being the Austro-Hungarian Emperor Franz Joseph I and the aristocrats from France.Shortly after the consecration of the temple, the Italian consul, Luigi Asareto, donated a unique white marble altar from Genoa and funds for the purchase of the bell. In 1912 and 1927 the church underwent reconstruction and is renovated. After 1944, the closure of Catholic churches and schools began throughout the all country. Worship at the Varna temple was finally banned in 1973. The building of the Catholic Church was looted and closed, resulting in destructive processes. In the period 2006-2013 under the project of Arch. Vladimir Rachev and with the active support of the Vatican and other benefactors, the temple was restored and opened for worship.
