Historic core of the Sea Garden

The first steps in the construction of a municipal garden were made in 1862, when Hafuz Eyub, chairman of the local trade council, supported by the city's mayor, Halil Efendi, set about ten acres for the park - Belidie Bahcha, and ordered their fencing with hedgerow bushes. The vegetable garden was located at the present Entrance of the Sea Garden.After the Liberation, in 1881, the mayor of Varna - Mihail Coloni proposed to create a city garden around the theater, together with a seaside park. Initially, his idea was not adopted, but he soon managed to designate a 26-acre park, in which 130 trees were planted. The Czech park builder Anton Novak was invited personally by Karel Shkorpil to build the park. His dedication and hard work were rewarded by the municipality in 1899 with the construction of a house near the entrance to the Sea Garden.
